Administrative team

Hello Falcon Families!

Prairie High School is aligned with the BGPS district goals and is a strong provider of high-quality instruction and strong social-emotional skills for all of our students.  As we continue to offer rigorous Advanced Placement courses, and through our extensive partnerships with CASEE, Cascadia Tech Academy, and Running Start, it is our mission to ensure every student graduates on time and with options.  Our Career Technical Education programs are growing every year, offering students the opportunity to earn college credits while learning career-focused skills.  We believe in the abilities of all our students, and our work is to nurture them as members of the global society they belong to, recognizing their place in the shared guardianship of the planet, and to help create a better, more peaceful world.  PHS believes in the humanity of all it’s members, and their well-being physically, emotionally, and emotionally. We accomplish this through our school values of:

Preparation

Rigorous academics, innovation, and life-long learning

Respect

For each other and the planet

Integrity

Be the best version of yourself in all things

Determination

Have the grit to never give up on your aspirations and goals

Excellence

Take pride in what you create and contribute

Prairie is fortunate to have a strong partnership with our Boosters and parents in the community.  Our success would not be possible without the support and positive impact our families and community partners have on PHS.  We are thankful for the on-going support you all provide.

Welcome back Falcons!  I am looking forward to serving as your Principal this school year.  This is the start of my 13th year in the Battle Ground School District and my 25th year in education overall.  Prior to administrative work, I was a Physical Education Teacher and Coach in the Washougal School District for 12 years.  I grew up in Eugene, Oregon and earned my undergraduate degree in Athletic Training and Physical Education from Pacific Lutheran University and my Master’s Degree in School Administration from Washington State University – Vancouver (Go Cougs!).  I live in Vancouver with my Husband, Scooter (PHS class of ’93), a teacher at Laurin Middle School, our two sons, Eli (PHS Class of ‘22) and Sam – current PHS student.  I look forward to the many opportunities we will have to work together to make our PHS community amazing.  GO FALCONS!

Hello and welcome Falcons both far and near! I am truly honored to join your administrative team. It is a full circle moment for me as I am a Prairie HS Alum who graduated from this incredible place in 1995. I have many fond memories of playing basketball for the Falcons in the 90’s. After playing some college ball, I followed a basketball coaching path working as a graduate assistant coach for Portland State University, followed by a Head Women's Basketball coaching position for Cascade College in Portland Or. These positions along with a number of local HS basketball coaching jobs rounded out my coaching career.  I have 16 years of experience in education and 8 years as a school administrator. My most recent post was as the Head Principal for Laurin Middle School which feeds into PHS. My experience as the Principal for LMS allows me to further my relationships with our students and families and I am very grateful for the opportunity to continue to support our community. I live in Vancouver, with my wonderful wife, Julie. We love and support our two beautiful daughters, Amelia and Scarlett.

Hi Falcons! I'm excited for my first year at Prairie High School as your Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. This is my 10th year in education, with previous roles as Assistant Principal at Laurin Middle School and Dean of Students in Evergreen Public Schools. I grew up in Hockinson and returned home after earning my Secondary Education degree from Washington State University. I later completed my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. My wife, Grace, is a Kindergarten teacher, and we have two energetic boys, Crew and Nash—with our first daughter arriving this September! I enjoy watching sports, golfing, and spending time in Central Oregon. I’m looking forward to partnering with families and building a positive, student-centered culture in our PHS athletic programs. Go Falcons!

Prior to working as a Dean, I served for 17 years as a Physics/Chemistry teacher and Departmental Administrator in Philadelphia, PA and Indianapolis, IN. I grew up in Eastern Pennsylvania, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Beloit College in Wisconsin and an M.S.Ed from Indiana University. I am an avid rock climber, and I enjoy reading, playing cards/board games, kayaking, hiking and traveling the world. I am looking forward to an exceptional school year with PHS students and families.

Welcome to 2025-2026! We are excited to partner with our students and families to have a great school year. A little about me:

I began my career as an English and history teacher, and taught for 10 years before becoming an administrator. As an administrator, I have served as a dean of students, assistant principal, and principal, and I have also coached football, track, and wrestling over the years. I earned a BA and MA from Western Washington University, and also earned a Master’s from GCU in Education Administration. I have a wife and four children, two of whom are adults now, and two who are juniors in high school. I am from the bustling metropolis of Castle Rock, WA (go Rockets), where I still visit from time to time. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, exercising, and am a proud superhero and Star Wars nerd. I love Prairie and count myself fortunate to have the chance to work with this amazing community. Go Falcons!
