  • Wednesday, Jan. 7: One-hour late start for most schools.

    Teachers will use this time to work together to implement best practices of high-quality instruction. Students will be released at the usual times.

  • Monday, Jan. 12: Board of directors regular meeting. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. The meeting is open to the public at the Lewisville Campus and is viewable via livestreaming. Get the details.

  • Wednesday, Jan. 14: One-hour late start for most schools.

    Teachers will use this time to work together to implement best practices of high-quality instruction. Students will be released at the usual times.

  • Wednesday, Jan. 14: Levy presentation.

    Attend a presentation to ask questions and speak with district leaders. This presentation is open to the public.

    Time: 6 p.m.

    Where: Battle Ground High School media center.

Levy tax rate comparison

In 2026, every other school district in Clark County except for Battle Ground has an educational programs and operations levy to fund the costs associated with their schools.

Even with the return of a levy, Battle Ground would still have one of the lowest total local tax rates of any school district in Clark County. Learn more.

Are you registered to vote?
All registered voters who live in the district will receive a ballot around Jan. 23. If you are not registered to vote, please visit the Clark County Elections Office website.

School board work session/special meeting recap
The Battle Ground Public Schools board of directors met on Monday, Dec. 22, for a special meeting/work session. See a video and summary of the meeting, which covered the upcoming replacement levy.

Next, the board will meet for a regular meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, at the Lewisville campus and streaming online. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting.

School finance 101: District financial health
The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction monitors the health of school districts and assesses their financial stability. Based on factors like spending, savings and how long a district could operate if all funding ended suddenly, each district is assigned a financial health score. A 4.0 is considered a perfect score. See Battle Ground's score.

World language test, SAT opportunity
Battle Ground Public Schools offers students the opportunity to earn high school credits through world language testing. Students who test at a proficient level can earn up to 4 world language credits on their high school transcript. Students who also meet graduation requirements may be eligible to earn the Seal of Biliteracy with their high school diploma. Get more information and register by Friday, Jan. 30.

Take the SAT in March; register by Feb. 21
High school juniors and seniors who are interested in taking the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) can register now for testing on Saturday, March 14. Many colleges and universities use SAT scores to make admissions decisions. Get details and register.

Dual credit information night is Thursday, Jan. 22
Did you know that students can earn high school and college credit at the same time? Find out how during this virtual presentation, which will cover Running Start at Clark College, Cascadia Tech Academy (Skills Center), career and technical education, work-based learning, College in the High School and Advanced Placement classes. We encourage students in eighth through 11th grades and their parents/guardians to attend. The presentation will be recorded and posted on our website.

Attend CASEE Science Night
Is your child interested in a science-based learning experience? Learn about CASEE, the district’s half-day program for high school students. The Center for Agriculture, Science and Environmental Education is holding their annual Science Night open house on Thursday, Jan. 15, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Interested students can meet teachers and current students and view experiments and projects. CASEE is located in the B building at 11104 NE 149th St., Brush Prairie. Middle and high schoolers, along with their parents/guardians, are welcome to attend. Please RSVP to save your spot. We hope to see you there!

Employee Recognition Award
Do you know an amazing staff member? The Employee Recognition Award highlights staff members who reflect the district’s strategic plan goals. Three to five nominees are selected and recognized at board meetings. Everyone is welcome to submit a nomination.

If you represent a local business or organization and are looking to connect with workers of all ages, consider hosting a free table at the Industry Fair on Feb. 19, 2026! Representatives from all industries are encouraged to participate at this event, which drew more than 1,000 attendees last year. Reserve your spot.
